CUSHIONS, ANGEL PAINTING, EMBROIDERED FRAME

'Home Sweet Home'.......small mono print cushion.

Small screen printed cushion.

'Bless Our home'....small mono print applique cushion.

Original painted angel picture on canvas.

Hand made, hand printed and embroidered photo frame......this is mine, and has a charming photo of Charlie aged about five. He is wearing a 'Snoopy' rain poncho with a 'Thomas tank engine' umbrella, how cute.........
Above the photo is a lavender bag mum gave me. The lavender came from her garden and three years on still smells wonderful.

FELT FLOWER BROOCHES

Now and then I have the urge to make something fiddly......thus these brooches.
They all have a brooch pin hand sewn to the back, and have machine
or hand embroidered details, beads or sequins. Sorry about the photos being a bit fuzzy, I don't claim to be a photographer! I am still learning how to use the camera.........let alone the computer!

SUN HATS

Child's hand printed hat. Its hatting time again,by that I mean I have to sit and sew endless piles of hats. I do get fed up with it, but hats are my best seller! In fact I am often refered to as 'The hat lady'.
It took me about a year of trial and error to perfect a pattern for a large and small brimmed hat that I could easily alter to fit all sizes of heads, which fitted well and kept its shape.
I usually use cotton curtain weight
fabric,which can be machine washed.
To alleviate the boredom sometimes I print my own fabric or decorate the hats with fabric flowers ,some of which I print or applique.
Most of my hats are 'one-offs', its nice to know you have something that is original rather than people knowing your hat came from retail chain shop and how much it cost.
I use remnants for most of the things I make, this allows me to keep my costs down.

BAGS, BUTTERFLIES, FISH, HAT,HEARTS,HOME

My latest makes..................
Hand made bag, fully lined with velcro fastening in a shiny pearly fabric.

I used the same pattern......my own .......for this bag. The fabric is delicate with a pearly sheen.

I have about four of these left.

Traditional chinz fabric, what coukd be more English! However I changed the boring cream background by hand colouring it mauve with fabric paint. The hat fits me perfectly, I have a large head......all those brains you see........so remember the hat is large.

The hat is fully lined, the bag lined with mauve gingham.....pretty.

Hanging hearts made from Laura Ashley fabric. Lovely pressy for a baby or anyone who likes pretty things.

Bless our home......I hand printed the fabric for this cushion, there is only one of them.

I appliqued on the house and embroidered the details. The back has an envelope opening and the cushion comes with the inner pad.

My latest design. I hand printed the butterfly, added details by hand, then quilted it.
The cushion is stuffed with polyester, it is washable. I personaly would wipe it with a damp cloth, and wash it carefully by hand and hang it out on a hot day.
I have printed several but only finnished two, so later on there will be more in other colours.

This is mine! It measures 27" by 18".

I used loads of my favorite scrappy bits. The main fabric and flowers a original 70s fabric, I only have a few bits which I adore. I keep bidding for 70s fabric on e.bay but always get out bid at the last minute......don't you just hate that....it's so sneeky!

Another butterfy cushion.

A fish I cut from mdf some time ago. I paintd it with acrylic and stuck on shiny silver paper and pinched my son Charlies glitter glue for details. I love glitter glue...in fact I have used it up....umm....must get more before he finds out!

A large flower pot I have just finnished...a design I based on retro scandinavian fabric....I am so into it at the moment! I will post another photo when it stops raining and I can plant it up.
