SHAKER INSPIRED CUSHION...

I hand printed the design on this cushion and then embroidered the whole design...I LOVE IT!
In fact I love all he things I sell...I would not contemplate selling anything I did not like or think was up to standard......

A close up of the design...If you click on it you should see the stitches...a labour of love!

WACKY ANGEL BAG...CUSHION....PAINTED T-SHIRT

My latest design... I took a print from a fabric collage which I put on to on white cotton....I then sewed it to the front of the bag....The writing is done in the same way., and reads...An Angels work is never done....Hearts mended...Tears kissed....Seedlings tended...Babies blessed...Stardust scattered...
This is my saying....

This cushion is done in the same way as the bag above....I am really pleased with how these came out.....I think they are fun , they would make a great present for any angel lover.

Sorry I forgot to crop this photo....at least my feet aren't in it this time!

It took me quite a while to paint this t-shirt...it is all done by hand..it is size 16....I did a few, I have a couple left.

A bit blurred! Not my day today...A close up of the above t-shirt....I put on little tendrils in gold, and high lighted the flowers...

ANGEL FABRIC COLLAGE...

This past week I have had a rotten cold!....I have got quite behind with my work....I had all the normal symptoms...but such a muzzy head......By that I mean I just could not find any form of creativity! .....I tried so hard but all in vain...so I stuck to the essential boring domestic duties and had a few early nights.
Yesterday I still felt stuck, so I decided to do a collage of a wacky angel...Mostly I used fabric, but a few bits of paper and paint and a little glitter glue....Love glitter glue!
This is what I came up with.....A cool wacky angel.....If I was an angel on my 'Angelic' site, this is probably how I would like to look!
I felt very pleased and this was enough to get me going again.
I have put her on a bag and cushion and am in the process of doing a t-shirt with her on
for myself....something I never get the chance to do!
Perhaps I shall have her as my official angel design....I'm back on track and full of ideas...wouldn't she make a great card design...

ANGELS...MERMAID BAG...

Both of these little angels are lovely to hang up anywhere......or just to keep for Christmas.

If you click on any of my photos you can see a close up.....In some cases you can see the stitches!

This bag is lined with a zip..it is roomy and has an inner pocket. The strap is long and can be worn over the shoulder or across the body. It features a print taken from one of my paintings. I edged the print with the yarn I love most..it is fluffy intertwined with papery ribbon and an iridescent thread...really pretty, it sets the picture off.

CUSHION COVERS............

Above and below are some fun cushion covers....they are all hand painted in original designs.
Each has a zip at the bottom....they all measure approximately 17"x17". I think an18"x18" cushion pad is the best size for these as that way they fit snugly with no baggy bits!

MERMAID.....ANGEL....

This is the third mermaid doll like this that I have made...I have blogged about her before if you want to know how she was made...Each one is different, so that you have a unique item.

This is the second angel doll that I have printed in this style....each one is unique.I have also blogged about her in a previous post.

BEAUTIFUL VELVET HEART BAG.

I made this pink velvet handbag yesterday...I bought the fabric because of the colour....bright pink but not the 'in your face pink'...I sewed on multi directional hearts...mostly shades of turquoise...satin and lurex...for shine and a touch of glitter..
There is a knack to sewing velvet...it can 'walk' slip and slide and gather its self....I learnt how to handle it properly from working for several ears as an up holster's machinist...Most f the sewing was piped box cushions for sofas....the pile and pattern had to run the right direction from top to the underneath including the piping. The work had to be 'perfect'.....otherwise I was told to unpick it!!! Most of our work was for top designers....for Lady Aster in Buckingham shire, and The Sloane Club in London....The only good thing about this job was that I got to keep some exquisite off-cuts of silk velvet ..double woven silk..tapestry etc worth at times well over £100 a meter....I still have a few precious bits....

This is the inside of the bag.The lining is perfect match...it has touches of gold that you cant see!

I put a large pocket inside..it has a zip...and I finished the top with the turquoise satin.

ANGEL...CAT DOLLS...HANGING HEARTS

Close up of the angel.

An angel doll which is suitable as a toy...but lovely as a decoration....she is made from cotton..stuffed with polyester...has a painted face and cotton yarn for hair.

I am not really sure quite what these are....Colin said they look like cats...hence cat doll.

I wanted to use some of my precious scraps of fabric...I have a chest of draws full of bits I love.

In these dolls I have used some very old scraps of Laura Ashley...they are just little bits left from other projects...all new...unused. Each of these dolls will be unique as the fabrics are no longer for sale.

They are very cute...and very fiddly to make!

This is the last one...Vintage Laura Ashley fabric...I threaded matching beads and tied a loop to hang.

I have the odd moments when I feel like creating a fiddly little things....really I like to decorate clothes and make one-off big items....

MERMAID DOLL.........HEART CUSHION.......

Good morning ...the sun is trying to break through...where has our summer gone? I live for those too hot day ,when we moan about how hot it is and have to sleep with all the windows open.
Never mind...perhaps we will get an Indian summer!
I have made another mermaid, the last was sold within ten minutes of putting her on e,bay.
I printed six at the same time..but home printing is not very controllable..so they all come out a bit different...I like that, it means each on is unique.

A close up of her face....

I found this fabric in' my pile for me'!...I only have enough for a few cushions.

I have a pile of fabrics I adore, but at times they fit the project in mind and I have to part with them.
This cushion has an inner lining, this gives it extra body and helps keep it in shape. There is no inner pad...but the whole cushion can be washed.

I added a double sided satin ribbon to the top...and appliqued a heart I printed on top of a felt heart to one side. The message reads 'I LOVE YOU'...I sewed it on by hand with embroidery silk.

MERMAID DESIGNS...MERMAID T-SHIRT...CROCHET TOP

This is a close
up of a piece of fabric I have just painted...it is going to be a big bag.

I am very pleased with this top....I hand painted the mermaid...slightly different to the one above....It is delicate...yet has strong clear colours and is modern...I used silver fabric paint to pick out the high lights.....I love that paint, when you iron to fix it...it melts into a glittery silver and catches the light.

Close up of mermaid.

This top is on e.bay...it is hand crochet in a shell design...I think the yarn is a silky pure cotton...not hard like some crochet yarn...It has some weight to it, stretches to fit when you wear it...I have worn it a couple of times....but it does not like my expanding midriff!

FAIRY PAINING...

I have put on this fairy painting so that you can see it properly....It is the design I have used on my fairy tote bags...

TOOTHFAIRY PILLOWS......

Little tooth fairy pillows...the pocket is just the right size for for the fairy to pop her coins into. I used a print for the fairy...hand painted the righting and decorations...and sewed a little pocket from sequined fabric...very fiddly!

MERMAID CUSHION......FAIRY BAGS...... MERMAID BAG...

Another mermaid cushion...I have made so many I have lost count...every one is different.

Sorry photo not clear....This bag has a print of a fairy I painted...It is a very delicate picture as fairies should be....I sewed it on catching in ribbon yarn with an irridesent lurex thresd...the same yarn I use on my angel wing bags. This is a little bag for little angels...or fairies!

The fabric is water marked pure silk...

Above is a larger version...

A small mermaid bag...made from water marked pure silk...so called if you dont know because it looks like it has ripples of water in it as it catches the light.

The perfect size for a little person!

DENIM SKIRT..HANGERS..BUTTERFLY CUSHION....FAIRY TOPS...

A pretty denim skirt...I sewed a double flower on the front...COOL!

Pale blue bought hanger with one of my hand made lavender bags looped on...an old fashioned idea, but lovely for a special outfit or little present.

This one is cream....I sewed a button on the lavender bag for extra detail.

I don't really have to tell you about this.... I hand print the design, then quilt the front with machine embroidery...I have sold so many....one customer told me she gave one to her niece, and the little girl won't sleep without it...That makes me feel good!

The last two of these...all I have left with this design is a larger vest top, and a t-shirt.

ANGEL DOLL...SEQUINED JACKET....FLOWER PENCIL...HANGING HEARTS....

Another angel doll...I only have a few left now, then that is it....I have ideas for other angels..She has cute hearts on her wings.

Oh..such a pretty little cropped jacket...I had visions of being wined and dined in this! No such luck...apart from being too busy I am never taken anywhere I could wear it...despite continuous hints! Are all men that dense? Or is it that they just choose not to here?

I have two flower pencil toppers left...The pencils are so cool...all covered in glitter I would have loved them when I was little. The flower and leaves are all hand sewn....nothing is stuck. I added a little embroidery and a sequin.

A hanging heart...there is also one on Shabby angel 1. Lovely to hang on a knob or hook or for Christmas.

This heart I thought would be lovely for a child's room...I threaded the loop with beads, it is quite tough...I know what little ones are like, so firmly sew anything they are lightly to throw about!
